All you’ll need is a tape measure, pen and paper.

It’s really very easy to do and as long as you take your time and make accurate measurements we will be able to price your stairlift requirements.

STEP 1

Please identify which side of the staircase the stairlift is to be located (the stairlift must be fitted on the same side as the wall).

STEP 2

Determine the overall length of the staircase, from the floor to the top of the staircase. Simply extend your measuring tape from the top of the staircase until the tape reaches the floor.

Take this measurement on the side that you require your stairlift to be fitted.

STEP 3

Measure the width of the staircase at the top, middle, and bottom.

STEP 4

Count the number of steps it takes to reach the top of the staircase (simply count the step noses).

STEP 5

ensure there is adequate clearance from obstructions at both the bottom and top of the stairs.

Ensure there are no obstructions, such as a door or a wall, within 400mm (200mm for the 'Simplicity 950') of the top step nose. (See image below)

Ensure there are no obstructions such as a door, radiator, or power point within 750mm (800mm for the ‘Simplicity 950’) of the bottom step nose. (See image below).
